finally a full song to listen. im going to put it on my mp3 player for the daily 3 hour train trip to uni and back, so later i gonna tell you my opinion and the wishes for the next version.
aber nach einmal hören finde ich es schon sehr geil. sehr typisch rolfmb halt
What I really miss in your latest stuff are those ‘thematic’ breaks in the build up that I always loved so much in a lot of the ‘old’ RMB tracks. I even dare to say that (at least to me) those really made the difference.
To drop some examples:
‘Fearless’ - min 3:30+ [btw, I still love that track]
‘Everything (the rise)’ - min 1:56+
In contrast the recent tracks feel more static and linear
- already taking into account that it’s not ‘rave’ anymore, of course.
I guess this is by intention and part of your new philosophy
about your music. Still, since your previous post also raised the possibility for requests/suggestions…
I really like how the track gets more and more drive towards the end - like the German team I hope. Well, okay - you also can’t hear the loss of form of the Croatia match in your song…
Really really nice, Rolf! I like the style and the sounds!
But one thing I would suggest: I guess, you haven’t spent too much time producing “Finale”. Could you, please, spend more time setting up the mastering next time? To my ears in the climax of this track, when the bassdrum is switched off, the synths become to loud. Of course it’s a question of setting up a compressor. It doesn’t sound too nice to me.
So, the idea at the base is good.
I like the song, but I think it is missing something…. something that breaks more the rhyhtm maybe. I think that entropy is right.
The song Finale if you listen to it many times, you can fell something repetitive and boring that doesn’t happen with many other your songs (good the example of entropy, and many others!).
I understand that it is a first version, but you must work more on this track putting in more ideas to make it much more “colored”.
i like this song, but its nothing really new, cas i can find many elements of your old songs (thats positiv).
but im sad about one thing. the main melody. im not a big fan of it.

i know, the main melody gonna stay, so my wish is, that you put more variety in it. (thats a general music problem, years ago, the songs had 2 main melodies or more, now a days (me included) its only one…)

alles an diesem song ist super, bis eben auf das, was RMB früher immer auszeichnete, die melodie! das problem ist dabei, dass man alles außer den genialen und typischen RMB-melodien auch bei unzähligen anderen künstlern finden kann. und mein hunger danach ist gestillt, ich willl endlich wieder mal einfallsreichtum bei den melodien, alles übrige ist nichts anderes als ein “sich drücken” um die wirkliche mühe und herausforderung. auch diese version von “finale” macht da keine ausnahme.
zu meiner schande bin ich auch noch fußballmuffel, beinahe -hasser aber wenn ich solche worte höre wie: “die melodien werden überarbeitet, es wird WIRKLICH mal auf die wünsche der fans eingegangen (soweit möglich natürlich)” - na dann wird sich das mit sicherheit bald ändern, und ich werd der erste sein, der die deutsche mannschaft anfeuert im finale
und ich muss entropy auch nochmal AUSDRÃœCKLICH recht geben: wenn man sich solche genialen tracks wie fearless und eben dessen geniale melodien anhört, ein track, der noch dazu damals einfach nur bonus auf einer maxi war, dann muss doch einfach jedem sofort auffallen. was gemeint ist! also nur mal ein (nicht verbindlicher) tipp @ rolf: hör dir sowas wie fearless einfach nochmal intensiv an, und du weißt sofort, was einem track wie finale fehlt. jeder fan erkennt das doch, jeder fordert wieder melodien, die im herz stecken bleiben….und doch kam genau in diesem punkt seit vielen jahren nichts…wer weiß, warum das so geworden ist und das ist wohl eins der größten mysterien, vor denen jeder RMB-fan steht.
wie auch immer: ich freu mich auf die zweite version und wenns sehr gut läuft sogar auf eine dritte, die perfekte sozusagen! ich freu mich auf die entwicklung, die zusammen mit diesem track noch stattfinden wird! der erste schritt war mit sicherheit richtig, aber noch zu risikoarm, zu zurückhaltend. da geht noch mehr, bei der deutschen mannschaft und bei diesem track
was melodien angeht die ins herz gehen - und dort auch bleiben, denke ich genauso, wobei ich da mittlerweile eher die musikrichtung ändere und soundtracks höre, da gibt es massig melodien die ins herz gehen. der letzte geile war “metal gear solid 4″ von “harry gregson-williams”.
Man sollte vielleicht nicht ganz vergessen, dass an Fearless und ähnlichen RMB Tracks ja nicht nur Rolf alleine beteiligt war… Wer weiß auf wessen Kappe da die Melodieausarbeitung ging…
Ich freu mich auch schon auf “Finale 2.0″. Lass es krachen Rolf! “Finale One” hat sich auf jeden Fall schonmal gut gemacht auf meiner Anlage daheim
man darf aber auch nicht vergessen, dass lieder wie fearless mehr als ein jahrzehnt alt sind, und wenn “finale” damals auf der experience maxi gewesen wäre, dann hätten wir es genauso gefeiert…

ich wollt mich da auch net an fearless festnageln, mir ist klar,dass das schon sehr sehr lange her ist und mit heutigen standards/produktionen verglichen auf einer anderen stufe steht. es sollte nur als beispiel zur veranschaulichung dienen.

Strange. When I copy the link into the adress bar, I have the options to save or to play the song. I use Opera, but it works also on Firefox and Internet Explorer.
What browser do you use? Maybe some options of the browser should be changed…
Hi, @all! I’ve found out yesterday evening. It don’t work with Firefox, don’t ask me why. I’ve tried IE 7 and that browser gave me the possibility to choose between opening or saving the file like cris80dr told. So, I got it now. Thanks for the help!!
It works with Opera, Firefox, IE7 without Quicktime plugin, all on Windows machines. Firefox works also on Linux.
If IE7 has the Quicktime plugin it doesn’t work.
Just listened to that song again, and it is really nice To hope to have a fourteen stories with suck kind of tracks as well. Although thirteen stories with it’s own style is indeed a very good album as well - just different.
Rolf could send it to our emails when he will reach a symbolic goal…. I don’t know, to the first “x” buyers.
I really don’t know which could be a reasonable value for this “x”
