…and then i experimented with different spirituous beverages and found out that a 60/40 mixture of Pitu and Bacardi gave exactly the sound i was looking for… after a great deal of tuning (pitch up means taking a nip) i felt the need for a bassdrum…

there was a question about how long it took to tune the glasses in the “questions” thread - here is my answer:
…i didnt stop the time, but it took definitaly some hours… for anyone interested in recording glasses some tips:
1) in opposite to blowing bottles the pitch goes DOWN the more water is in the glass! thats because you are not changing the volume of a resonator (as in blowed bottles) but increasing the mass the vibrating part of the glass is dampened with (that at least is MY theory
)
2) the pitch ist not linear to the amount of water in the glass - the fuller the glass gets the less water is needed to reach another halftone
3) you´ll need one untuned glass for wetting your finger - if you wet your finger in a tuned glass it will slowly detune because you are using its water
4) obviously not all glasses can reach every halftone - so chose at least two kinds of glasses if you need more than some neighbouring tones. too empty or too full and you will have nasty overtones and thinner sound!
5) if you are going to try out drumsticks as well - keep a towel near!

It has a little fragrance of “Madame Butterfly” as Funboy noticed and that was also my first impression!!!
I like the glass sound, but the rest needs to be shaped a little bit more (just my un-professional opinion).

the glass sound is definitely perfect to listen to. for me personally it could stay ambient like it is at the beginning

Wow, klasse Idee!!
Das macht mich schon neugierig wie der ganze Track konzipiert ist, weil man ja nur knapp ne Minute davon hört. Aber meine Gedanken schweifen schon in die Richtung á la “ein 10 Minuten Track mit genial langem und einführendem Intro, ein Break der mit den genialen Klängen und den wunderscönen Halleffekten der Gläser Gänsehaut erzeugt und ein ebenbürtiges Outro”…
Wird das auf dem Album sein?

Yes, this one is now called LIQUID RITE and will be on the album. This snippets only demonstrates the intro and it develops into quite a classic sounding or “oldschool” trance tune with another surprise after 4 minutes

Also das Ding ist wirklich der Hammer!!! Das kannst echt nur du, Rolf… Hab lange selbst Musik gemacht, bin jedoch nie auf die Idee gekommen Gläser als Instrument zu benutzen (waren wahrscheinlich immer zu schnell lehr:)… Hab neulich mit nem Freund zusammen gesessen und philosophiert. Dabei waren wir uns einig das Techno irgendwie abgelutscht ist, oder wir zu alt sind um uns dafür noch zu begeistern. (typisches reden über alte Zeiten).
Falsch!! Die heutige elektronische Musik ist größten teils einfallslos & langweilig, weil niemand mehr was wagt, oder es keiner besser kann! Das Lied zaubert mir dass gleiche (eher größer) Grinsen ins Gesicht wie früher… Und Rolf, nimm`s mir nicht übel aber die letzten Songs von RMB (Feel the Flame, usw…) waren auch langweilig… Ich bin froh, dass es ein neues Kapitel “Rolf” gibt, der sich wieder etwas traut… Das alles hier ist erstklassige Musik!!!!

ich weiß jetzt nicht was die in den letzten jahren alles durchgemacht haben und ich glaube auch das liam nicht so extrem wie die tänzer war oder ist aber nochmal so zu kommen nach dem extremen einbruch ist gut !
die lieder hören sich endlich wieder nach prodigy an - sind leider auch was qualität angeht auf dem damaligen stand geblieben ..
ich höre mir gerne sowas wie omen an - ich finds klasse

ich fänd es auch klasse denn es gibt hier wie in meinem beitrag sowas wie eine abteilung ” Über Gott und die Welt ” oder eine wo nur dikutiert werden kann ..
es wäre mit sicherheit auch einfacher für dich neues zu lesen weil dir das angezeigt wird .
das problem wird die arbeit damit sein denn dann brauchst du auch sowas wie rechte hände ” mods” ..
ich würde es auf jedenfall sehr begrüssen !

so gings mir auch als ich vor 2 wochen noch ein lied aus meinem Modul plug Tracker gehört habe -
es ist irgendwie alles nur noch auf kohle aus und irgendwie verblödet die musik .
@rolf wieder mal
schöne melodien gibts kaum nocht und deswegen wollen auch mehrere so schöne lieder wie das trance snippet haben - das was vielleicht besser wäre , wäre das piano kraftvoller und mit hall oder dual mit leichtem streicher oder so um das etwas mehr vorzuheben .
TOP 10 teil wenn nicht alle nur noch LA LA LA hören wollen würden -)

concerning nowadays music: to me the biggest problem is that music seem to has lost its value… most younger people have gigabytes of music they didnt even listen to once… and they didnt pay a cent for it… (and they listen to music they “like” with the tiny toy speaker of their mobile phones)
i guess that computergames and cellphones are MUCH more important to people today than music is… well, if id only know music by major radio stations i might feel the same…

I really agree with you Rolf. Kids are downloading plenty of music and they don’t care about to buy originals. For people like me - music collectors, downloading music has only one sense - to check if that stuff is okay to buy. But for me music will be always most important thing because nothing is changeable like music. Music can turn you back in the time… Music can refresh some memories…
So I very like your idea to sell CD’s on your blog. I hope that nobody who will buy this CD will not rip it into mp3 and start to share it on net. Real music should be for real fans!

schon klar aber dann darf sowas wie die downloads aufs brennen beschrenken und das vervielfältigen zu beschränken nicht geben !
mir ist das mit gangster / killer und ein paar anderen passiert !
ich würde die songs gerne nochmal hören und habe die bezahlt aber nochmal bezahl ich sie nicht und das hat mich z.b. sauer gemacht !
es sollten auch viel mehr bearshare oder limewire oder wie sie alle heissen kontrolliert werden denn das tut am schluss uns ehrlichen mehr weh denn die preise steigen weiter für die “Käufer” .
ich hab den halben keller voll cd´s aber das ist eher selten geworden weil wirklich alle diese illegalen downloads leicht gemacht bekommen .
ich finde die eigen vermarktung gut !
ich hoffe auch das so reichlich kaufen obwohl ich das bezweifle denn soooo viele kennen den blog nicht und das rmb jetzt nicht mehr ist wissen auch kaum welche .
man müsste eigentlich (soll nicht ) irgendwie mal ne werbung machen wo ein zusammenhang mit rmb ist und das neue besonders vorhebt damit die leute das jetzt kennen lernen .
es müsste erstmal Rolf Maier-Bode bekannt werden für die welt der Zahlenden .( hört sich verwirrend an he ?!)
ich kann auch verstehen das man aus eigenen stücken für seine eigene arbeit berühmt werden will aber wofür nicht ein sprungbrett nehmen wenn man damit schneller hoch und weiter kommen kann ? man kann auch tiefer damit fallen aber bei dem ruf von rmb ist das eher nicht zu befürchten .
ich selber bin seit mitte letzeten jahres arbeitslos und dachte auch das ich so einfach durch meine hohen qualis und guten zeugnisse wieder nen job finde .
wir haben vor 2 jahren ein haus gekauft und ich hoffe das im april mein sohn super gesund zur welt kommt aber genau solche verpflichtungen machen aus meiner ” ich will aus eigenen stücken arbeit kriegen ” art eine not .
seit weihnachten ist es mir scheiss egal was für einen job ich bekomme , haupt sache ich kann was verdienen und mir ist dreimal egal wie der job zustande kommt .
mir soll es sogar recht sein wenn sich jemand für mich einsetzen würde !!!
vielleicht ist es auch einfach zuviel in meinem fall ..
das sollte nur verdeutlichen das im harten leben eigentlich keinerlei hilfsmittel gescheut werden sollten -)
