…132 for this one… and no 4onthefloor
a longer, more advanced snippet of the song from the 132/136 bpm poll…

this is the newest version without a 4/4 beat… the drumming works much better with the bells… and this snippet begins within a break not at the beginning…

Still strongly dislike this one - to be honest.

Even in Russia knows what is a good music.
And they wait for the album,
and you know what Russians make if they do not agree what they want!!!
The defensive system Pro in Poland is not yet active (if you know what I mean),
Slowly it becomes seriously Rolf.
(Only fun)
nice greetings is to Russia

Hm, somehow this scratchy sound is too sharp, could you make it softer? It gives me a feeling of discomfort.
Also, I just had the thought that the glasses/bells might go better with a breakbeat, the 4/4 beat sounds too smooth for the slightly ‘disharmonic’ melody (I’m not that good in music theory to be able to pin it down, but it just sounds a bit … off … or maybe it’s just unusual).
Oh, I’m really looking forward to this album :)))

Yeah, I think it could be like one long beat on 1, on 2.5 (or something like that) and two short beats on 4 as you already have it every second äh.. Takt. But as you can see, I also don’t know anything.
20. November 2008 at 11:51
Takt=meausure… but i understood what beat you mean…
20. November 2008 at 11:52
Hmmm… nice sounds emerging!!! It’s a good choon!
20. November 2008 at 20:53
i just hope that, “streching the seconds” will be on the album (maybe in a 10min version:P). the best ive heard from you since mission-horizon!

6 weeks to go until the end of the year …

Can’t wait for the album!
21. November 2008 at 02:37
To compare, can we hear the 136bpm version also? (Or am I just now making a fool of myself? :P)
I’m very interested in what the new album will bring, other than the hints we already got. Not that I’m discarding what we’ve heard already; far from it!
A request on my own behalf, please make at least some of the songs change the melodic theme significantly at least once every 16/4th or less since this is blatantly missing from most electronic music since its insurrection. In that respect in this era, the best breakcore producers got the hint better (be it rhythmic not melodic though) than most producers of other electronic genres.

this song originally was 132 and i thought about integrating a percussion theme that needed to be faster… so i tried it @ 136… but i thought it didnt work that good so fast and i asked you all…
finally i chosed not to use the percussion theme and it stays @ 132… like most of you had recommended

So produce two versions. The drum version sounds also very nice, but the 4/4 beat version is great (don’t change it!) and must be absolutely on the album.
23. November 2008 at 01:03
Well I think this song would be better if the whole song would have a sound like in the beginning of the New version. Or a little “playing” with the bells would make it much better!
23. November 2008 at 13:23
Upgraded version sounds nice, nice breakbeats, but still this song is not kickin’ dunno why…
24. November 2008 at 16:22
like altarnax I like the beginning of the new snippet best (which is the middle of the track, I know), although I do think the breakbeats go better with the bells in general.
to make it more “kicking” (quoting v-12… who I agree), can you add more weight to the beat? I don’t necessarily mean, make it louder, but create some kind of loop, that gives a circular impression…ok, that might be misleading … I’ll try to explain. imagine a swing (for children) and you’re lying just below the swing. on the swing there’s something that makes a sound, so it gets louder, or more intense everytime the swing is just above you and less intense when the swing reaches its max. amplitude. But obviously it also accelerates the closer it comes to the middle. does that make sense at all?
Ok, I know this might be complete rubbish I’m talking. After all, I have no experience whatsoever and I don’t know what’s possible within the software/hardware setup. I just go with my gut feeling, so don’t take me too seriously. but I do think, there’s a certain kick missing.
24. November 2008 at 16:24
ok, maybe it would have been easier to say: can you make the beat oscillate?
24. November 2008 at 16:41
I like the build up of the track. As said before by others, I feel that the tracks could be a bit more powerfull towards the end… maybe use an axtra bass layer underneath? Try a different chord? It needs a bit of a push!

Hey Rolf,
maybe you can get further inspirations and sounds there:

Hello Rolf,
This song is very good. I luv the break beat and the glass.
I have, however, a small… “remark”, well, it’s not a remark, but more like a personal feeling: maybe during the unleash of the break beat, U could make it less repetitive: for example, now it sounds like:
bass clap bass-bass clap, bis…
Maybe you could something like:
bass clap bass-bass clap / bass-bass clap bass-bass clap.
In this way, I believe the monotony of that break beat could be broken!
I hope U can understand what I meant to say (in a very “academic” way
), as I truly don’t have the time to express this in musical measurements…
Well, looking forward to hear your new album!
Cheers!!!
