Another use of the MOOG Filter
i am working on a song right now that uses a UAD MOOG Filter in the drum bus to give the drums more kick in the mids… this is how the setting (and some automation for the break) looks like
as the arrows show its a highpassfilter with envelope-modulation mixed into the dry signal…
this is how the drums sound dry - that is without the filter

this is the signal generated by the MOOG filter

and this is the same part with a 40/60 mix

here is a longer snippet demonstrating the automation of the mix parameter in the break as can be seen in the picture above…

Wow… I hear a violin in there!!! Now, this is what I’m talking about! A real a$$ kicking track!
I love how it sounds… messy in the beginning, but that “ordered” well-organized RMB-mess that fills me with ecstatic shivers!

nothing special…its price is based on the name. I am not gonna purchase this plugin. Try I Sherman FB2 instead… hehh

that was mainly meant for the guy recognizing the violins - which were already there some time ago.

a sherman filterbank might be better but its MONO so for the same purpose you´d need two of them… and thats near to 3k EUR… thats a difference
the UAD “Moog” is a plug in for the PCI card UAD-1 (and hopefully will soon be compatible with the new UAD-2) so you need the CARD as well and UAD-1s are quite inexpensive @ebay but not very powerful compared to the new one…
and i think the UAD moog is quite special because of the quality of the distortion section… it really thickens synthsounds for example… a bit like good hardware
