Status Quo

About two months ago i had a collection of thirty songs & snippets from which to choose the final candidates…  i picked ten and worked on them so that they all had a song format (3-5 minutes) and were roughly mixed… and i thought that some of these songs are quite finished while others were - well, you might call them typical “album tracks”… and i decided to try better, to raise the quality of every song - at least from my point of view - and look for solutions that bring the “album tracks” to another level… and, just as you witnessed with the “stretching the seconds” motif, try many different things although that might be time consuming…

i know that i couldnt hold a december release date this way but this album is very important to me and no one would press this cd in the last week of december anyway…

so my new time frame is finishing the songs the first week of january, spend another week with mastering and trying to finally release it at the end of january… thats six weeks from now :)

    I’m looking forward to hear the CD! But I’m a bit sad there will be only 10 Tracks, does this CD last less than 60 minutes? :(

    yes, there will be one version - at least for all of you (that means the first hundreds) and the first part of 2009

    i am open to future developments like vinyl, remixes, a label for cooperation, even downloads… but the first shipment will be one for all and ill try to make it so touching that you all want more :) its really a great time doing music just for myself without a manager or a label telling me that there needs to be a “hit” or a “radio single” ;)

    Hi Rolf,
    Im so pleased you want to release new album :) And from what i can see it will be something different, comparing to commercial whompa-whompa. And that’s great. Especially, i missed for tracks like Anyway, No Friend or No Women No Kids. I just love them ;) I know it won’t be the same, but at least not another commercial crap.

    I can’t wait for that release

    @quaoar: the deals look fair und practicable but did you listen to some of the music there? ;) nevertheless i will keep this in mind IF the demand is too high for manual handling :)

    i dont know if this was already answerd, but are we going to hold a real cd with booklet in our hands or just mp3?

    and i hope, that, after the album release, you will still use this blog to show us snippets and informations…
