“Your physical existence is no longer of importance” deeply reminds me of the borg … or “I, robot”. The moment in history when the machines decide that they are well enogh developed to come around on their own and define their creators as a possible thread - and announce the extinction of mankind with a polit, yet strict women’s voice.

leider baut sich bei diesem lied bei mir keine geschichte auf.
in meinen ohren der schwächste beitrag auf dem album.
die melodie, wenn man sie denn als eine bezeichnen kann, ist langweilig.
toll sind die streicher und die hintergrund-klänge, aber für ein schönes gesamtbild nicht ausreichend.
die frauenstimme erinnert mich an den film “Die Insel”. ihre werbe-artige monotone stimmlage “passt gut” zur monotonen “melodie”.
bei all der positiven kritik zum album (auch von mir) kann man eine negative sicherlich gut verkraften.
ein lied, dass ich einfach nicht verstehe…

for me it’s about the progress of technology. there are more and more automatized work-processes and the human physical effort is needed less and less… (your physical existence is no longer of importance)
the title echovalley represents nature, like the grand canyon. where the human voice and it’s echo would be transported through the stones and the air and becomes part of the atmosphere there .. even just for a few seconds.
so: back to nature!

Ok I try in english…. in my mind, I see a world in the future. A world with a lot of machines like e.g. in “Starship troopers” or “Demolition man”……. but I don’t have a special story… it’s like going along a way and beside the way are different monitors or holograms talking to me. Commercial and so on. Or if you come into your flat a machine voice says to me: “Welcome, Mr. Koellefornian”

Die Ruhe vor dem Sturm! Kommt mir in den Sinn.
Der Track erzeugt das Gefühl eines “ technischen Prozesses”
Wie hier schon beschrieben Maschinen oder Robots
Sehr kraftvolle Bassline mit dem Kik das macht die Nummer aus.
Es ist kein relex Track -klar! Die Streicher sind eher Ablenkung vor “dem Sturm”
Das man bei der Nummer nicht abdancen kann ist auch klar
Aber sehr gut arbeiten!! - hab’s ausprobiert!( der Umsatz steigt)
Dieser Track eignet sich eher für Werbung oder Kino!
Schlecht ist der nicht !!!!!!!!!!

Very nice song! It also reminds me of the movie “The island” (good movie, btw.) and a bit of “the matrix” where we all are just slaves for some robots.

Ich muss Timon da zustimmen. Für mich auch der schwächste Track mit ungewohnt schlichter Melodie ohne richtigen Höhepunkt oder Verlauf. Ich denke das Wort “Werbespot” passt da gut.
Schön als kurzer 30 Sekunden-Zusammenschnitt aber in den 4 - 5 Minuten passiert zu wenig.

At the beginning I see the desert, sand… And a man with the flute and snake… (00:00-00:58)
Next I see the mans on the camels riding by the desert. (00:58-01:56)
They stopped for a while, cause of being tired. (01:56-02:25)
They are riding very slow, because heavy sun is heating them all. (02:25-03:24)
They stopped… Thought, that they see the water… But no, it was a fatamorgana! (03:24-03:53)
So they started again to going to nowhere… (03:53-05:00)

Die Melodie an sich ist nicht schlecht, jedoch die Umsetzung ist meiner Meinung nach zu “billig”. Der Hintergrund ist besonders schlecht (einfallslos) geraten, die Stimme ist deutlich zu leise und der Aufbau zu lang(weilig). Aus dem Lied hättest du mehr machen können, da die Hauptmelodie und die Stimme als solche gut sind. Amspruchsvolle electronische Musik, ist das Konzept, was dich von den meisten andern Techno-Produzenten auch heute noch unterscheidet! Du kannst mehr…

Ja, der Song (und Stellarium) sind die beiden Songs, die ich am wenigsten mag und mit denen ich leider nicht so viel anfangen kann. Hätte man wirklich ein bisschen mehr draus machen können.

Nicht billig sondern eher MINIMAL würde besser passen.
Dafür ist da ein Druck drauf man man man. ….
Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen was man da noch besser machen kann
… - andere Melodie einspielen - klar geht das, aber dann ändert man diesen Track komplett und der erzählt dann eine andere Story.
Seit ihr den immer schlechter macht fange ich an den mehr zu mögen

Well, I didn’t hear that, but the voice seems to be some computer/maschine which is able to put humanity in a kind of “digital state of being”. And then transferring us all to “the valley of their birth” (Silicon Valley?). Well I really don’t know what that should be good for.

first I though about some science fiction movie where 2 different species exist in parallel, maybe on different planets first, then meeting through space travel and one species is more advanced than the other, being able to exist without physical bodies. And they give the other species the same ability.
then it dawned on me that it must be computers and artificial intelligence we’re talking about and that gave me shivers down my spine, seriously! at the same time I found the woman’s voice very cheeky, and I found the idea of transferring our minds onto computers scary and exciting simultaneously.
more scary though I think…
btw, because or this ambiguity (fear and excitement) I’ve always liked this track. Been one of my favourites.
and it’s absolutely dancable!

Hi,
was the voice recorded specifically for the song? Or is it a quote like many of the other samples found on the RMB albums - and I think on Thirteen Stories as well?
Btw., ist there an official list of all the quotes used?

Its not a movie quote, its recorded especially for that song - voice credit is given in the booklet… and i will try to avoid using movie samples as that is very “RMB like”…
