wie wärs mit einem remix-comtest? den könnte man auch in den verschiedensten musiker-foren posten. kommt immer gut an und ist auch eine gute werbung. ich wär jedenfalls dabei

State of flux
To You (what an amazing melody, that song is just great even though i usually prefer faster songs)
Although it was quite hard to choose 3, since the following songs are also really good ones:
Truth And Light
Challenge
The Cube
1971-7-4
Echovalley
Muxed (the strange thing is, i hated that song when i heared it the first time, now i really like the little melody which makes a nice song out of my not-so-liked breakbeat genre)
Ok, but not great:
Blinding Lies (cool melody, but vierfarbillusion had a nicer “background”)
Liquid Rite (nice beat, but i don’t like the glass melody. The song, however, starts to become really great from minute 4:00 to the end, but that can’t “save” the song)

However, I like the poll, and it’s good to ask for feedback, which might be influence new albums.
Of course, that does not mean, all new songs should sound exactly like those top voted. Creativity and new sounds are still a good idea, but one at least sees, which ideas were not that popular with customers.

ok, das hatte ich missverstanden.. ich dachte fett bedeutet erste drei plätze… war ja am anfang auch so bei mir, da ich als erster gevotet habe…
habe das mal ausgeschaltet, es sollte ja jeder wissen was er gevotet hat und es sieht ohne fettschrift besser aus finde ich…

5,8,9 nicht grade die Favoriten (sorry für meinen perversen Musikgeschmack )
hätte ich mehr auswahl hätt ich noch sicher 2,3,10 und auch 13 genommen.
11,12 und 7 fand ich schon immer - als die schwächeren
Wobei bei 7 - (ist ja net schlääächt) - ist mir aber zu RMB mässssig ,
so standart, schönes piano _ ja ! aber irgendwie kennt man das schon von dir, (Wisperin(g)) kommt mir in den sinn. 7 hört sich auch nicht nach viel arbeit an -oder ????
sehr schön finde ich 9, sehr gut komponiert, gute Effekte, perfekt!! - kommt aber auch net so dolle an ???
Also SEVEN / STELLARIUM (36%, 38 Votes, also platz 3)
ist für mich eher eine angenehme Übelraschung.

@talex …. also bei mir kommt “Blinding Lies” nicht gut an, weil es mir persönlich gar nichts gibt… ich weiss nicht woran es liegt, aber die Melodie klingt in meinen großen Öhrchen einfach störend. Irgendwie experimentell oder so. Und somit klick ich regelmässig ” >>”

Es gibt nur Leute, die noch nicht ausreichend ueberzeugt worden sind.

For me also it is a bit strange that all the trance tracks got so much votes. I normally like trance a lot but I cant listen to good trance because I don’t know good tracks (a part from old ones) Ok I also like Stellarium and Vertico a lot.
For me good 50% of the tracks sounds just like normal, nothing special in contrast to track like horizon and ddb before… Looks like you tried to make pop musik which is easy to consume for the masses? Its ok I’m happy to have a new CD with some really good tracks! But on the other hand its a bid sad that you don’t use your potential. Why you use the typical trance sounds and beats? Its nothing new! Ok, I also like the rolf style inside, but your potential is much bigger, or not? I really love the beats in Horizon, ddb and Shadows! For me this was really great trance, it was something new, no one did tracks like this!
For me the it is strange when someone says that the music sounds more grown up… I remember when I listend to widescreen I thought oh wow this is good musik! I thought that reality spring and the other rave tracks are just on the album to sell much. For me widescreen was most grown-up music from you (a part from spring, reality, break the silence, the rise, fine place…) and comparable with Chemical Brothers quality. I don’t want that Rolf make music like this again but please try to go away from this mainstream trance sounds! I’m sure you have the potentian to do your own! I like your CD but I have to say that it sounds in a lot of points very cheesy…

meant in a respectful way, but reading yours it seems like youre stuck in the past. his new stuff sounds like mainstream? no it doesnt!!! (besides that mainstream doesnt mean a bad thing)… how can a track sound cheesy? cmon… choose ur words carefully, that could hurt rolf. sure you dont have to like anything you dont want to. agree!!!
but he does sound more grown up. he used to master his old stuff by himself. it was bad. the new stuff is well mixed and was mastered by microwave prince… rolf knows that someone else can put things out of his work he did not “see”… PERIOD!!!

Bis EchoValley kann ich das Album von Anfang an wohl genüsslich anhören.
Die Tracks danch reizen mich leider nicht mehr so stark.. meistens spul ich dann gleich bis Vertigo vor

von “Blinding Lies” fand ich die ersten Verisonen auch geiler.. richtig geil teilweise.Bei Dem Track habe ich manchmal das Gefühl als fehle im noch etwas, als wäre er nicht ganz fertig. Davon könnte ich mir jetzt einen Rmx vorstellen, der auch was werden könnte.
Ansonsten finde ich so ne Abstimmung sehr Interessant. Sowohl für die Fans, als auch füt den Künstler, da er dadurch weiss was ankommt

also bei mir ist das eher so dass ich 11,12 und 7 schon mag - es gibt hier keinen Track wo ich sag - iiigit überhaupt net mein ding - es gibt die ich mag, dann die, die ich klasse finde und dann, die kracher bei den ich es net mehr schaffe drüber nachzudenken obs gut oder schlääächt ist, es dringt direckt in mein autonomes nervensteurungszentrum - und ich fang an zu zappeln. (aber sonnnnst keine nebenwirkungen)

@Talex …. naja, ein Song kann ja toll produziert sein etc. Aber wenn er einem nicht gefällt, dann ist das eben so und ich kaufe mir ja keine Cds weil ich denke “Oh, das ist ja mal ne schöne Produktion - hm aber seltsame Melodien…”
Hier gehts um die 3 Favourite songs und ich habe halt mal genannt, welche mir nicht gefallen.

toll produziert - ist mir sehr wichtig Koellefornian
und ja ich kaufe cd”s mit Oh, das ist ja mal ne schöne Produktion - hm aber seltsame Melodien…” z.b Yello…..oder auch Rolfs “blinding lies”
(das gesamte muss stimmen)
ich habe bemerkt dass man musik erleben muss und nicht einfach nur anhören.
Rolf schafft es akustisch eine spannende und interessante Unterhaltung zu erzeugen nicht nur tolle melodien,
- hört auf zu hören - fangt an zu füllen!!!!

So sehe ich es auch, hor80. Aber Talex sagt dann ja selbst: “das Gesamte muss stimmen”… eben. Nur gut produziert und nur eine gute Melodie geht nicht…
Aber um noch mal aufs Thema einigermasssen zurückzukommen: Bei THIRTEEN STORIES passt das Gesamtpaket, denn die CD ist optimal produziert und wie mir scheint, gefällt ja jedem hier das Album bis auf 2-3 Songs. Auch wenn das für jeden andere Songs sind
Darauf kommt es hier doch an. Um Grundsatzdiskussionen zu starten, ist das hier sicherlich der falsche Ort und jeder empfindet Musik eh anders

es ist gut dass wir uns annähernd verstehen und ihr net alles zu Herzen nimmt
und trotzdem sag ich der “Ton macht die Musik”
ein schöner Sound kann oft mehr bewirken als eine Melodie
also je besser die sounds um so weniger braucht man melodie.
beides zusammen ist noch besser
und es ist bei Rolf so, dass es sehr oft beides sehr gut ist (50:50)
und wenn ich höre 10 st im Studio täglich verbracht - dann hört sich das nach echter arbeit an

My personal top list would probably be slightly different, but all in all the poll result above reflects my opinion. I especially agree on the high votes for the top 5 and on the low votes for the last 2-3 songs.

My personal top will be a bit different too.
Difficult to decide between the first three, which to put in first position for me.
For the last position, I will see SIX / ECHOVALLEY in a higher position. Also FOUR / THE CUBE should be in the first half.
I see anyway a well deserved 4th position for THIRTEEN / TO YOU.

its nice to see that my guess of the top3 was quite right - i wanted to have strong songs on 1, 2 and 7. a good start and an impact at the middle of the album (which is also the middle of the “logo” which stands for the letter “i”… you might guess the rest of my thoughts…)

for truth and light did you use one of those mac error sounds? or maybe a matlab error sound? because whenever I listen to it, in one or two places I always think my matlab code has crashed, and when I check it, I realize it was a sound in the music. in any case, it’s a very similar sound.

meine nummer eins ist “to you”. es ist einfach wunderbar. schon in den alten rmb zeiten war das klavir richtig gut. zum beispiel “experience”. ich hore 13 stories schon ein monat jeden tag wenn ich in die arbeit fahre. mein absoluter hammer ist “all in”. weiss nicht warum so wenig stimmen gekriegt hat. dieses song erinnert mich an das stuck “the trick”, welches bis zu heutigen tagen meine top 5 ist. an 13 stories vermisse ich etwas wie “spring”, oder “reality”.

i must say - this is absolutely outstanding piece of artwork !! i’m listening to all 13 stories from morning to evening again and again and i can’t stop … when i listen first time the album, i said “shit, he didn’t forget it !!! it is still threre” .. i mean the “feel”, the “spirit” of ‘rmb’, something hard to describe but what isn’t in any other music… 13ST. is of course a next step, moving forward, something new, but also all those things which i loved (and still love) on all old rmb tracks are still also in your new project.. i must say thankfully !
for me rolf is absolutely the best music composer of all times … no other music give me so more than his tracks … can’t wait for his next album
, hope there will be else LOT albums and he wil never refuse to music composing 
my most top 3 are “Challenge”(!!!!), Echovalley & Stellarium…
btw. - i ordered the album few days ago, payed for it and now i’m waiting for CD.. but i wasn’t able to wait to hear all tracks, so i dowloaded mp3’s - i will delete them all immediately when CD will arribe

I could never decide for 3 favourite tracks out of such an homogene album. Nearly all tracks are well produced, most of them have a nice melody and they all have a unique feature. I’m not about to compliment the album too much, because some things have been done better to my mind, but it’s homogene - nearly every tune is on a high level. So: Sorry for me not voting.
But thanks at this point, however, for the album, Rolf. (I think, I haven’t thanked you yet.

Bei 1 hättest den Schluß noch mächtig länger machen können
weils dann erst richtig ab geht
