This week is dedicated to my own remix work… and i would like to share some Pre-Versions with you…
Here is kind of a “triplet remix” of 1971/7/4… it still needs more drive at the end…

And here is one of two remixes of STELLARIUM… i somehow really like the new melody at the end…

And one of my favourites for now… a dark TRUTH AND LIGHT remix, slowly building up… the break between the two parts is too sparse still…

I like it very much! Stellarium and 1974 are awesome. The Truth and… is more static but also nice

The path you’re going for “Truth and Light” is freaking amazing.
The intro is big, the instruments are great and I love the break as it is.
BUT - don’t you think you’re _way_ too shy from -1:23 on?

The beginning of the Truth and Light remix is spot on! Very heavy which is nice. And as you said, the melody at the end of Stellarium is really the lost chapter and suits very well with the song in general. Great work as always.

The Truth and Light Remix reminds me of a song I know from playing EVE Online (Below the Asteroids by Jon Hallur). But I like this floating kind of melody. Very mellow.

1) 1971/7/4
nicht schlecht. die bass drum etwas weicher. im ersten teil.
2) STELLARIUM
gefällt mir sehr gut.
3) TRUTH AND LIGHT
klingt im unteren tiefen frequenzbereich etwas zu langsam (leirig). im ersten deutlich zu hören. hier passen die beiden tonspuren (hohe und tiefe) nicht zusammen. die harmonie stimmt nicht.
übergang als welle aufbauen und dann langsam abfallen lassen
im zweiten teil fehlt etwas. z.b. ein hoher ton (ein Anschlag) mittels triangel oder so ähnlich
sonst sehr geil

nun mal ne dumme frage - würde es gerne auf englisch schreiben aber dafür reichts bei mir nicht ganz -)
ist es der sinn , den sinn/die seele eines liedes zu zerstören damit es ein remix ist ?
oder nennt man das neu besetzen von instrumenten und leichtes abändern der spuren nur eine andere version eines songs ?
ich versteh den sinn von REMIX irgendwie nicht ??????(hab ich so den anschein)
1971—hat irgendwie seele verloren
Stellarium(ein Superklasse teil im original)-ist ganz weit weg und hat gar nichts rolf mässiges mehr
T&L-hat auch alles verloren aber eine neue seele eingehaucht bekommen da es irgendwie was ganz neues ist - das ist trotzdem super und hat irgendwie den rolf sound aber noch nicht ganz denn der ruhige teil ist wirklich zu ruhig und langwierig ..
wann gibt es vom absoluten meisterwerk der musikkunst —State of Flux— was zu hören ???
ich würde der hammerteil ab min. 2,37 in einem remix mit hartem kratzbass gerne mal hören ..
hat sich da mal jemand dran getraut ?

Sounds interessting - but at the moment to my mind not very Rolf Maier Bode - like…. hm….
1971/7/4 sounds a little bit like House, I like it more than the original version
Truth and the light - I don’t know… for me it sounds just like a very slow pre Version of the original… let’s wait till the remix is finished..
Stellarium - it sounds good and I like the new melody
But I hope, for myself that some remixes are maybe harder and not only soft housy and slow
All versions are good to hear but at the moment no “highlight”. Thanks for sharing the pres!

ganz grosses lob! der triplet remix gefällt mir super gut um welten besser als das original!! allerdings würde ich das vocal- sample rausnehmen, das macht einen ziemlichen kitschigen eindruck.
TRUTH AND LIGHT remix: ist ganz gut und eine alternative zur cd version… bis zum break bei 2:5, der ist echt super klasse!!!!!
Stellarium finde ich im vergleich zur cd version nicht so gut, auch wenn in der neuen mehr drin steckt…
nochmal zum thema remixen… würde sagen man remixed um die stücke clubtauglich zu machen.. das passiert hier aber nur bei dem triplet remix.. TaL ist einfach eine super schöne neue version!
ist aber eine interessante frage, warum werden die tracks neu geremixt? werden alle albumtracks geremixt oder kommen auf die neue cd (?) auch neue stücke??
was ist eigentlich mit streitross, bunkerlicht und pc??? I got 99 cent - and I would buy all

the reason for remixing my own stuff more than one year after releasing the original songs is that i am looking for a new set of production tools, for a realm of sounds to go with my style of music…
i am experimenting with analog synthesizers and a lot of analog distortion/eq/compression… many modern sound sources are over used and/or not to my taste… i like some of the aggressive 90s sounds, but not the typical “hardtrance” detuned saws… and 909 drums have been used to much as well…
so i am on a journey and i decided that i should find a “family of great sounds” before conquering new songs with vocals… therefore remixes seemed to be o good start…

es ist ja auch noch roh - hoffe ich
im ansatz find ich T&L gut auch wenn es für mich kalt rüber kommt
könnte mir vorstellen, das mit echten Gitarren besser währe

aber die Bassline find ich gut
sage mal wie machst du die oder womit ?
spielst sie ein oder Programierst die, wie man das etwa bei Massive machen kann?

Mixed feelings here: I like Truth a lot, enjoy 1971, but don’t like Stellarium at all.

The TRUTH AND LIGHT remix has a lot of potential. The intro is really awesome, reminds me a little of old Guns’n'Roses songs. The later part should probably be a little more powerful though.

Ich finde alle drei Remixes besser als die originalen Versionen. Nur damit meine Meinung der Vollständigkeit halber hierzu festgehalten ist.

hm. even though I like the new ideas, esp with truth and light, I’m also not a big fan of remixes. it only rarely happens that the remix is better than the original, imho. but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t buy the remixes. just that I won’t expect you to remix all the songs, I’d be happy with completely new ones right away.
on the other hand it’s cool to hear what else you can do with the existing melodies etc.

Nachdem ich mir den Remix von Truth&Light mehrmals angehört habe, würde ich sagen: perfekt, nichts mehr ändern! Vom Aufbau her könnte der Remix locker die 10-Minuten-Grenze knacken, ich glaube, das hätte er auch verdient…

I wasn’t here for a while and after that long time I can only say: delicious sounds! I want more :-). And I read the CDs are sold out. Feels great to own three off them, makes it even more special ^^
